This is an independently published photograph of the same named shipboard scene, not a confirmed reproduction of SPRI negative P2005/5/4. The catalogued photograph’s precise 9 December date is not established for this alternate. The modern SPRI photograph is linked separately and not reproduced. The full plate also includes a separate Antarctic tabular iceberg photograph.

Public domain. Library of Congress item 23026514 explicitly states this digitized book is free to use and reuse; matching Internet Archive metadata identifies the LOC scan and reports no known copyright restrictions. The selected photographs were published in 1922; photographer Herbert G. Ponting died in 1935. This clearance applies to the independent historical book scan, not to SPRI digitizations.
Image existence does not prove a linked claim. Consult image-specific captions and reuse conditions.
